Puttur: St Philomena College organizes Free Computer Training camp for rural people

Puttur, 17 Jun 2016: The department of post graduate studies in computer science of St Philomena College organized 2-week free computer training camp for the benefit of rural people at their Seminar Hall of PG Centre, here. The inaugural function of this camp was held on Thursday June 16.
MLA of Puttur constituency and parliamentary secretary T Shakunthala Shetty inaugurated the training camp and said, ‘Computers play a vital role in every field. It is important for everyone to have at least the basic knowledge of using computers.’
The commissioner of Puttur city municipal council Rekha J Shetty, manager of Corporation Bank of Darbe branch Nagaraju and chairperson of Centre for PG Studies of the College Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro have participated as chief guests.
The principal Professor Leo Noronha presided the programme.
The co-ordinator of the department Professor Govinda Prakash was present on this occasion.
Tejaswini and group sang the prayer song. Nagashree welcomed the gathering. Abhilash proposed the vote of thanks. Abhijna compered the programme. The faculty members of the department Professor Sooryanarayana Bhat B and Professor Akshatha have extended their support in organizing the programme.
