Udupi: State-level 2nd Karavali Short Film Festival - 2016 in city on Jun 19

Udupi, 16 Jun 2016: Karnataka Film Academy in collaboration with UNICEF Prasar Bharati national award winner - Disha Communications Katpady, near here will be organizing state level 2nd Karavali Short Film Festival – 2016, Kannada and Tulu movies that convey social message at Ravindra Kala Mantap auditorium of MGM College, Kunjibettu, here on Sunday June 19 from 9.00am to 6.00pm.
Dr P V Bhandary, psychiatrist of Dr A V Baliga Hospital, Doddanagudde, here will inaugurate the Festival on Sunday at 10.30am.
Kaup former MLA Lalaji R Mendon will preside the programme.
Adani – UPCL chief executive officer Kishore Alva, Moodubelle C A Bank chairman Shivaji Suvarna, Kaup – Vidyaniketan Group of education institutions administrator Professor V K Udyavar, Udupi – Nirmiti Kendra project director Arun Kumar, Mulky astrologers Vishwanat Bhat and Usha Bhat, Prime TV managing director Dinesh Kini Alevoor, Udupi district Karnataka Rakshana Vedike general secretary Ansar Ahmed will be the chief guests of the occasion.
The entrepreneur and social activist Suresh Shetty Gurme will distribute awards during the valedictory function on Sunday at 5.00pm.
Tulu movie actor and theater artiste/director Vijayakumar Kodialbail will preside the valedictory function.
Malpe fisheries entrepreneur Anand P Suvarna Kodavoor, movie director Krishnaprasad, Cheluvina Chittara – Kannada movie famed cameraman Renukumar Bengaluru, Birti Credit Co-operative Society president N Gangadhar Birti, movie critic Shekar Ajekar, Prime TV director Roopesh Kalmady, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Udupi district president Santosh Shetty Panjimar will be the chief guests of the occasion.
The district Rajyotsav Award recipient senior photographer Laxman Suvarna Kaup, cchoreographer Rajesh Brahmavar, Kudla – Tulu movie director Chaya Harsha, district Rajyotsav Award recipient social activist Sunil John D’Souza Shankerpura, Moorumuttu – famed theater artiste Nagesh Kamat Katpady will be felicitated during the programme.
Twelve both Kannada and Tulu movies will be screened throughout the day.
