Free Books and Uniforms distributed for students of St. Lawrence high school Moodubelle

Udupi, M/Belle, 16 Jun 2016: Free books and uniforms for the students of 8th standard were distributed at St. Lawrence High School on 9th Jun 2016. In total 45 new students received the books and uniforms for the academic year 2016-17 donated by well-wishers and parishioners of St. Lawrence Parish.  

 

The programme began with a prayer song invoking God’s blessings followed by a prayer song.

 

Ms. Leena D’Silva Headmistress accorded a warm welcome to the guests, students, parents of students of 8th standard and donors who were present on the occasion.

 

 

All the guests were invited to the stage and felicitated with flower bouquets namely Rev. Fr. Lawrence Cutinho (Asst. Parish Priest), Mrs. Lilly Castelino (Donor), Mr. A.K. Alva (VP Parish Council), Ms. Ranjani Hegde (President, Belle gram panchayat), Mr. Naveen Correa (Principal, St. Lawrence PU College) and Ms. Leena D’Silva (Headmistress, St. Lawrence High School).  

 

The donors contributed estimated Rs. 150,000/-  for various activities of the High school through sponsorship - Mr. Philip Castelino (Rs. 25,000 for 8th students free books/uniforms), Mr. Valerian Alva (Belle Charitable trust – for English Coaching Class), Mr. Anil Alva (Rs. 5000 for note books), Mr and Mrs. Denis Anitha D’Souza (Donation for computer coaching class for the current Academic Year). There are also a few donors contributed some amount for the above purposes.

 

The guests of dais and donors distributed the books and uniforms to the students. All the guests wished students good luck and thanked the sponsors for their generous contributions. Mr. Valerian Crasta (PT teacher) announced the names of the donors and Mr. Sudhir proposed the vote of thanks.

 

Mr. John Castelino compered the entire program.
