Mangaluru: City lawyer celebrates 10th wedding anniversary by cutting watermelon

Mangaluru, 31 May 2016: The city lawyer and child rights activist Dinesh Hegde Ulepady who was wedded with Ashwini under peepul tree forgoing traditions 10 years ago celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary amidst the children at Savedana Ashram, Maroli, here by cutting watermelon on Tuesday May 31.
The couple was wedded under the peepul tree in collaboration with Human Rights Federation, Children’s Rights Activists Association and PUCL – Mangaluru ten years ago.
Speaking on the occasion, Roopa Study Centre chairman Gopadkar said that there are evil mongers in the society who are weakening the enormous energy of children. The need of the hour is to voice such atrocities.
The couple distributed notebooks and uniforms worth Rs 50,000 to the children of Sevadana Ashram, Maroli, here on the same occasion.
The RTE Activists Association president Abdul Khader, members Krishna Nayak and Renny D’Souza, Corporation Bank officer T R Bhat, advocate Akshata and others were present.
