Bantwal: Christians serve humanity with service motto - Bishop Dr Aloysius

Bantwal, 24 May 2016: If one is peace loving and has societal concern, there would not be jealousy and enmity. Christians are serving in different spheres with service motto, said Mangaluru bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza.
Bishop Dr D’Souza was speaking after inaugurating the decennial celebration programme of Christ the King church, Punacha – Manela, near here on Monday May 23. Earlier, he has concelebrated the Thanksgiving Mass to commemorate the decennial celebration of church.
He further said, ‘Father Muller Medical College Hospital has facility for free treatment of 750 patients. The diocese has reserved Rs 12.5 crore for healthcare of poor and Rs 4.5 crore for education.
Mogarnad deanery vicar Fr Mathias Pereira said that one leads contented living by fostering harmony in the society.
CAMPCO chairman S R Satischandra lauded the contributions of Christians in education, healthcare and other spheres because they are hard workers and ever active.
ZP member M S Mohammed said that Christians are contributing for harmony in the district.
Mount Rosary organization chairperson Priscilla D’Mello, Karkala – Nakre parish preist Fr Vincent Robert Crasta, Punacha gram panchayat president Pratibha Sridar Shetty also spoke on the occasion.
The ward chiefs Elian D’Souza, Maurice D’Souza and Xavier D’Souza, parish council vice president Daniel D’Souza, Ambrose Monteiro and donors were felicitated on the same occasion.
Manela parish priest Fr Steven D’Souza welcomed the gathering. The ward representative Urban D’Souza delivered the preliminary address. Cyril Ferrao proposed vote of thanks. Ashwin compered the programme.
