United Sports Club, Farangipet to organize UPL Football Cup from May 28 to 29

Bantwal, 17 May 2016: United Sports Club of Farangipet, here have come forward to organize UPL Football Cup at the model of Indian Premier League (IPL), in order to encourage budding players of Dakshina Kannada district. It’s for the first time ever in district, United Sports Club will organize Football Cup in lines with IPL.

 

The matches will be held at the ground located on the shores of Netravati River, Farangipet, here from Saturday May 28 to Sunday May 29. The bidding for players was held at Sevanjali auditorium, Farangipet, here on Sunday May 15 evening.

 

 

The owners of 8 teams and co-owners participated in the bidding, while the highest bid reached Rs 20,000. Meanwhile, draws were held to close the bidding for highest amount.

 

Its to encourage promising football players – Ummer Farouq

The cricketers and Kabaddi players get more encouragement in recent times by organizing IPL modelled matches. However, the football players in the district get no encouragement. United Sports Club will organize UPL Cup in lines of IPL, in this regard, said Ummer Farouq, chairman of United Sports Club and ZP former member.

 

‘There are many talented football players in rural villages. The football matches will be held in the model of IPL,’ said Ummer.

 

United Sports Club vice president Gafoor Dubai, general secretary Asif Iqbal, Pudu gram panchayat vice president Hashir Perimar, member Ramlan, Arun Kumar Nuliyaluguttu, Salim, Mohammed Bafi, Firoz, Iqbal Maripalla, Irshad Kumpanamajalu, Mohammed M K, team owners Mustafa, Hasir, Asif, Tousif, Hameed, Hakim, Hafil and others were present.
