25 suspected cases of dengue reported in Mala Village in Karkala
Karkala, 13 May 2016: Dengue, the mosquito-borne disease, has once again started spreading panic in Mala village here with about 25 suspected cases of the disease being reported.
So far about five cases are confirmed and it is reportedly said that about 20 others are affected by the fever. While from the confirmed cases, one case is reported from Bajagoli, the other four cases are reported from Shivapura near Hebri.
Mala is located on the National Highway to Kudremukh, Sringeri and Horanadu. Tourist will stop their vehicles here to have breakfast. It is suspected that the fever might have spread through a few tourists, who stopped by.
The Health department has informed the people that the fogging was done in Mala and surrounding areas and the situation is under control.
