Mangaluru: All India Beach Pro-Kabaddi Tournament inaugurated at Panamboor

Mangaluru, 16 April 2016: Three-day All India beach Pro-Kabaddi Tournament – 2016 that was organized at the leadership of Rakesh Malli, president of Karnataka state Amateur Kabaddi Assoiation was inaugurated at Panamboor beach here on Friday April 15.
It was organized in association with Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, Dakshina Kannada district Amateur Kabaddi Association and Dakshina Kannada district Jaya Karnataka.
Karnataka state youth services and fisheries minister K Abayachandra Jain inaugurated the tournament here on Friday.
Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes, MLC Ivan D’Souza, MLAs Sunil Kumar and Moideen Bava, Dikki Devu Shetty, Mangaluru mayor K Harinath, Dr M Mohan Alva Moodbidri were the chief guests of the occasion.
Bantwal town former councilor Sadanand and Swarnalata Malli couple offered motion for the tournament by hitting the coconut on the court.
The first winning team will be awarded with cash prize of Rs 2 la, second prize Rs 1.25 lac, third and fourth prizes will be Rs 25,000 each, besides the trophies.
The teams from all over India will partake in the tournament. Central Railways Mumbai, Dena Bank Mumbai, Maharashtra Police Mumbai, Sai Seurities Mumbai, ONGC – Delhi, Bharat Printers – Chennai, I-Tech Chennai, Central Railway Headquarters – New Delhi, Nagpur District, HAL – Bengaluru, Vijaya Bank – Bengaluru, BMTC – Bengaluru, Kerala state team, Varun Travels – Beltangady, Alvas – Moodbidri, Sporting Ullal, Udupi district team.
Karnataka state Amateur Kabaddi Association honorary president Amaranath Tai, president Srikant Shetty, office bearers Ratan Shetty, Purushottam Poojary, Uday Chowta, Dr Mohit Suvarna, K T Suvarna, Chandrahas Shetty, Namdev Rao, Sudhakar Rai, Giridar Shetty, Ramanat Vittal, Hasanabba Thumbay, Chandrashekar Karna, Satish Bhandary, U N Hasanabba, Randeep Kanchan, referees Premanat Ullal and Monappa Kulai, Kabaddi champion Jayaram Shetty Mumbai, Steven D’Souza Mogarnad and others were present.
Earlier, puja was offered en route to the courts at Nananeshwar temple and a colorful procession was held.
