Did not need Priyanka to enhance my life

Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi, on Thursday said he did not need his wife Priyanka Gandhi to enhance his life.
New Delhi, 14 April 2016: “I did not need my wife Priyanka to enhance my life, I think I had enough. My parents gave me enough. I have been educated enough to sustain in all types of situations,” he said.
Asked about taking the political plunge, he said: “You never say never. So let us see what the future has in store for me. When I feel that I can work for the people, when I get my calling, that is when I’ll think of joining politics.” “I know with which family I am associated, what they have done for generations. I have to make sure that I respect it,” he said.
Vadra, whose business deals in Rajasthan and Haryana are under investigation by the respective state governments, also dismissed suggestions about leaving the country.
“I am born and brought up here. (I) would never leave my country, no pressure (sic), even if I am humiliated. No matter what the government says, I have the ability to sustain and absorb. I have a very strong and good family which gives me strength,” Vadra told video news agency ANI at the Delhi Golf Club.
A one-man committee of Justice S N Dhingra has been probing the controversial land deals of Vadra in Haryana and a similar exercise is underway in Rajasthan. The CAG had found that the previous Congress government had extended “undue favours” to Vadra in his land deals with realty company DLF.
Vadra has never addressed political rallies or participated in meetings, but he had joined his mother-in-law Sonia and brother-in-law Rahul on their campaign trails in Rae Bareli and Amethi.
