Puttur: Talent Day held at St Philomena College

Puttur, 14 April 2016: St Philomena College here organized Talent Day at college campus on Apr 12. Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino was the chief guest of the occasion.
Roy said, ‘Education has been the driving force of India’s march into the spectrum of development. In recent years, regrettably engineering and medical careers rule the roost in the preferred choices of career sidelining research opportunities in general sciences.’
St Philomena education institutions correspondent Fr Alfred J Pinto presided the programme.
The parents-students Association president Ganesh Rao, alumni Association president Jayakumar Rai and St Philomena College campus director Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro were present on the dais.
Sahana Rao and group presented the prayer song. The students’ council president Hadley Wilson Gonsalves welcomed the gathering. The secretary Ibrahim Bilal presented the annual report and joint secretary Shiksha Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Elizabeth Sebastian and Nisha compered the programme.
