Bantwal: B V Karant Memorial 3-Day Natakotsav begins at Noojibail School

Bantwal, 09 April 2016: The characters are lacking in cultural spheres in Dakshina Kannada district that has high literacy in the county. Meanwhile, the need of the hour is the people of highly literate district ought to take this issue seriously in this regard, said DK district Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim.
DC Ibrahim was speaking after inaugurating 3-day B V Karant memorial Natakotsav, that was organized by B V Karant Ranga Bhoomika Trust, Manchi – Kukkaje, near here in association with Kannada and culture department at Noojibail School premises, near here on Friday April 8.
The contributions of B V Karant, Shivaram Karant and Karnad to cultural sphere is going oblivion, DV Ibrahim expressed deep concern. He hoped the people of district will focus their energies in promoting unity for common good. He recalled sharing the dais with Karant in his life and said, ‘B V Karant is not limited to his hometown Manchi – Kukkaje. He belongs to entire Karnataka,’ said DC Ibrahim.
ZP member M S Mohammed presided the programme.
Canara Bank retired manager Nooji Narayan Bhat was the chief guest conveyed best wishes for the programme.
B V Karant Ranga Bhoomika Trust chairman Ramachandra Bhat welcomed the gathering. Deputy chairman Ganesh Ithal and joint secretary Umanath Rai was present.
