Mumbai: Renowned Educationist Albert W DSouza re-elected as chairman of Model Bank

Mumbai, 08 April 2016: The renowned educationist and veteran of co-operative movement Albert W D’Souza was re-elected as chairman of Model Co-operative Bank that is at the threshold of celebrating 100 glorious years founded by Catholics migrated to Mumbai from coastal Karnataka, during the annual general body meeting held here recently.

William J Sequeira elected as deputy chairman, Vincent Mathias, Benedicta Rebello, Marita D’Mello, Abraham Clement Lobo, Thomas D Lobo, Paul Nazareth, Sanjay Shinde, advocate Pius Vas, Lawrence D’Souza Mulund, Gerald Cardoza, Ancy S D’Souza, Ronald H Mendonca and George Castelino were elected as directors.
The Bank is mentored by veteran of co-operative movement John D’Souza, while William L D’Souza serves as CEO and Herald M Serrao serves as additional chief manager.
The Bank ranked third by The Brahanmumbai Nagari Sahakari Banks Association Limited and bagged Top Bank Award.
Speaking on the occasion, Albert said that the Bank is surging ahead with the loyalty of large clientele offering best of banking services. The valedictory function of centenary celebration will be held at Kalina, Santacruz (East) here on Tuesday April 26. The vision of founders, goodwill of shareholders, bank customers and well wishers contributed for the growth of the bank, said Albert.
