Puttur: Phoenix 2016, Physics Fest inaugurated at St Philomena College

Puttur, 19 March 2016: St Philomena College, post graduate department of physics, here organized an inter-collegiate Physics Fest ‘Phoenix 2016’ at their silver jubilee memorial hall, on Thursday on March 17.

 

Centre for PG Studies and Research chairman Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro inaugurated the Fest and said, ‘Equations, theory and postulates make the Science. But the real life is more than the reference frame of Science. It is with full of challenges and hurdles. Conquering these hurdles and achieving the success is daunting task. Here the Scientific attitude and rationality plays the role. Students should go beyond the boundary of formal text books. Activities such as Science Fest become the relevance in preparing students to face the challenges of the life.’

 

 

The correspondent Fr Alfred J Pinto presided the programme. St Philomena PU College principal Fr Vijay Lobo was present.

 

The head of UG department of physics Dr A P Radhakrishna and co-ordinator of PG studies in physics Dr E Deepak D’Silva were the guests of honor.

 

Varsha Moleyar and group presented the prayer song. Joyline M Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. Spoorthi proposed the vote of thanks. Samatha K compered the programme.
