Gadag becomes K’taka’s first Wi-Fi enabled city
Gadag, 17 March 2016: Gadag has made news for itself after the city became Karnataka’s first completely Wi-Fi enabled city.
As per sources, there will be 25 Wi-Fi locations in and around the city, thus giving a wide coverage to internet users. The coverage will not be limited to government buildings or bus stands, but will also be available at tourist destinations.
The project has been taken up by BSNL. Every Wi-Fi hotspot will provide speed up to 2 MBPS catering to up to 1,000 users. Every user can access about 200 MB data per day.
Gadag is situated about 80 kms from Dharwad and 60 kms from Hubballi.
