Mangaluru: Lecturer accused of harassment kills self
Mangaluru, 16 March 2016: A 41-year-old Kannada lecturer, who was accused of sexually harassing his student committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence here on Monday night.
The deceased identified as Harish Acharya, was found dead at his house in Kalladka here by his brother.
As per reports, Harish was residing in his brother’s house or the last few months. It is also said that he was depressed over the whole issue—arrest and allegations against him and was undergoing treatment too.
Harish was accused of sexually harassing his student on July 22, 2014. Though a section of students and Harish’s colleagues spoke for him, Mangaluru Rural Police had arrested him.
