Beltangady: Minister Dr Parameshwar inaugurates much-awaited Dharmasthala police station

Beltangady, 15 March 2016: The state police department has been striving to be peoples’ friendly working with the framework of law. Meanwhile, when compared to other stated in the nation, their services are better than none. The police personnel is duty-bound to protect those who come seeking security, said the state home minister Dr G Parameshwar.
Parameshwar was speaking after inaugurating the newly-set up police station at Dharmasthala, near here on Monday March 14.
The fear of God is declining in the mankind in the present times that has seen rapid progress in every sphere. The people dare to steal idols of deities. There are 16,000 vacant posts in state police department, among which 8,000 are already filled up. The process for recruitment of remaining 8,000 posts is underway. Five-hundred sub-inspectors will be recruited, said Parameshwar.
The process of recruiting 160 policemen is in progress in DK district. The crime rates in the state during 2015 have come down. Therefore, new police stations will not be opened, added Parameshwar.
He also offered assurances of sanctioning traffic police station for Beltangady town.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Hegde said that the much-awaited police station at Dharmasthala created history of sort. He also urged the police to manage the traffic because most of the pilgrims arrive in private automobiles to Dharmasthala.
The local MLA K Vasant Bangera presided the programme.
The state ministers Ramanat Rai and K Abayachandra Jain, DGP Amrut Pal, police commissioner M Chandrashekar, Dharmasthala gram panchayat president Achyut Poojary were present.
