Puttur: St Philomena College launches Commerce Lab

Puttur, 01 Mar 2016: ‘Today trade and commerce have witnessed remarkable changes due to liberalization, globalization and privatization. Our commerce professionals have a good demand in the world as financial advisors, consultants and auditors,’ said Jagannath Kamath, former president of ICWAI - Mangalore branch.
After inaugurating the St Philomena College, Commerce Laboratory of PG department of Commerce here, Kamath said, ‘The Commerce laboratory is a new concept, wherein students practice their theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom. In addition, students carry on more and more experiments. Mock commerce and business activities are undertaken in laboratory. By this method of learning and practicing, students will develop self-confidence of running a business profitably and understand the practical difficulties.’
The chairperson of Centre for Research and Post Graduate Studies Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro and the principal Professor Leo Noronha were the guests of honor.
St Philomena PU College principal Fr Vijay Lobo was present.
The Correspondent of the College Fr Alfred J Pinto presided the programme.
Manasa presented the prayer song. Ashika welcomed the gathering. The co-ordinator of the department Professor Divyashree K delivered the preliminary address. Nisha proposed the vote of thanks. Harshitha compered the programme.
