Swami Nityananda retracts statement ’death of soldier is similar to suicide’

Bengaluru, 19 Feb 2016: Controversial Swami Nityananda who was mired in an alleged sex scandal, has stirred yet another controversy by saying soldiers dying on the battlefield was similar to committing ’suicide’.

 

The controversial statement made by Swami Nityananda- Killing of people by soldiers is considered a murder and when the soldier died on the battlefield it was similar to committing suicide - while delivering a spiritual talk to his followers on February 18 has been telecast in a few TV channels.

 

Few pro-Kannada organisations were irked by these statements and have staged protests demanding that Nityananda be ousted from the state.

 

Nityananda who did not wish too be embroiled in yet another controversy retracted from his earlier statement and said that he held soldiers in high esteem and the nation was safe because of them.
