Mumbai: Sri Narayana Guru Sahitya Prashasti conferred on noted litterateur Jayant Kaikini

Mumbai, 16 Feb 2016: Mumbai is really cosmopolitan. It’s the city of multi-cultures and multi-religious, it’s rare to find in any part of the world. Mumbaikars are known to work freely without anybody’s diktat, said the renowned litterateur Jayant Kaikini.
Kaikini was speaking after accepting Sri Narayana Guru Sahitya Prashasti – 2015, that was instituted by M B Kukyan, former honorary chief editor of Akshaya – monthly bulletin of Billawar Association Mumbai®, during the function held at Billawa Bhavan, Santacruz (East) here on Sunday February 14 evening.
Billawar Association president Nityanand D Kotian presided the programme.
The senior litterateur and critic V Ga Nayak was the chief guest and well known litterateur Dr Sunita M Shetty was the guest of honor, presented the Prashasti to Kaikini on the occasion.
Billawar Association vice presidents Raja V Salian, Bhaskar V Bangera and Shankar D Poojary, Dr U Dhananjay Kumar, honorary general treasurer Mahesh C Karkala, women wing president Shakuntala K Kotian were present at the dais.
Akshaya monthly bulletin staff Jayaram G Nayak, Santosh K Poojary and Mamata Nayak, Billawar Association honorary general secretary Dharmapal G Anchan welcomed the gathering. The poet Sharada A Anchan rendered the prayers. Akshaya monthly bulletin editor Eshwar Alevoor, Kusuma C Poojary introduced the dignitaries. Dharmesh Salian compered the cultural show. The sub-editor Harish K Hejmady compered the programme.
The students of Guru Narayana Night School presented variety cultural shows after the stage programme.
