Bantwal: Marine creatures perish in waters near CPCRI, Vittal

Bantwal, 09 Feb 2016: The fish and marine creatures were washed away in the premises of CPCRI, Kambalabettu – Okkettoor, near Vittal, here on Tuesday February 9, owing to polluted water.
The fish were seen floating in the dam area that lies at Paleri near the main gate of CPCRI, Ramanagar, near Vittal. The locals allege water was polluted, while the sample was dispatched to state-run laboratory to ascertain the cause of poisoning.
Vittal town panchayat chief officer Leena Britto, engineer Tulasidas, Vittal sub-inspector Prakash Devadiga, police personnel Lokesh and Ramesh have visited the location.
Vittal police registered a case on the basis of the complaint filed by Vittal town panchayat.
