Mangaluru: 92.7 BIG FM sets new bench mark with 106-hour RJ Marathon

Mangaluru, 31 Jan 2016: The city’s most-heard radio station 92.7 BIG FM set a new bench mark with a non-stop 106 hour Idea presents BIG RJ Marathon. RJ Rakshitha flagged off the marathon this Republic day at 7.00am from the Mangaluru BIG FM studio. The marathon concluded here on January 30 at 5.00am, completing a record 106 hours.

 

As a part of the nationwide campaign #IndiaSharesIndiaCares, the Marathon started out as a 92-hour program. However, it was extended up to 106 hours due to positive audience response.

 

 

During the marathon, various guests spoke about the power of Internet and internet sharing. Guests and listeners were invited to take the pledge of internet sharing by giving a missed call to 1800 30 101 927. For each missed call received, Idea would be donating 1MB data to NGOs focusing on child education.

 

Some marked personalities who took the pledge include state health minister U T Khader, MLA Moideen Bava, MLA J R Lobo, MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik, Mangaluru International Airport director Radhakrishna, movie actor Devdas Kapikad, traffic ACP Uday Nayak, Panaboor Beach Development Authority chairman Yathish Baikampady and movie producer Rajesh Bhat. A large number of journalists, bloggers, techies, businessmen and website owners also took the pledge. At the end of the Marathon around 5,50,000 MB data was collected from across India - including via micro sites and tweets.

 

RJ Rakshitha, RJ Errol, RJ Roopesh, promo producer Joel Rebello, sales accounts manager Alston and Kiran were also present at the Marathon.
