Puttur: St Philomena PU College celebrates Swami Vivekananda Jayanti

Puttur, 15 Jan 2016: ‘Swami Vivekananda was a great social reformer, saint, orator, maker of modern India and a lover of Humanity,’ said Professor Harinarayana Madavu, former head of department of Kannada of St Philomena College here.
As a chief guest on the occasion of celebration of Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi organised by Humanities Association of St Philomena Pre-University College on January 12.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Harinarayana said, ‘Swami Vivekananda is best remembered for his speech at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago in 1893. His teachings still continues to inspire millions of minds across the globe.’
The College principal Fr Vijay Lobo in his presidential address said, ‘The teachings of Swami Vivekananda present his wisdoms and messages on diverse subjects, especially for youngsters.’
The co-ordinators of the Programme Bharat Kumar A and. Jyothi M were present on this occasion.
