Mangaluru: Jai Tulunadu, Tulu movie premiered in 11 theaters of DK & Udupi districts

Mangaluru, 16 Jan 2016: The native Tulu speakers ought to develop love for their mother tongue that should promote Tulu filmdom. Despite the Tulu movies have limited market; it has been making news that has indeed brought me happiness. The natives will patronize the movies that have excellent social message and of their likeness, said state forests and DK district-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai.  

 

The minister Rai was speaking after inaugurating the screening of Tulu movie, Jai Tulunadu, at PVR Theater here on Friday January 15. He also lauded the success of Tulu movies in the limited market by gaining the confidence of movie-buffs.

 

Mangaluru bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza was the chief guest of the occasion said that Jai Tulunadu, Tulu movie producer Frank Fernandes has already produced movies in Konkani and Kannada. He hoped more Tulu movies are being produced to get classical status for Tulu.

 

 

Jagdish Adikari, Harish Sherigar, Dr Richard Castelino, co-producer Shivanna, director Praveen Tokkottu, hero Avinash Shetty, heroine Sonal Monteiro, Vijay Kumar Shetty Mumbai, Naveen D Padil, DK district working journalists Association president Jagannat Shetty Bala, Santosh Shetty, Sarojini Shetty, Prakash Shetty Thumbay and others were present.

 

Mohan Rai Karnoor compered the programme. Avinash Shetty proposed vote of thanks.


Jai Tulunadu, Tulu movie premiered in 11 theaters

Jai Tulunadu, Tulu movie presented by Ferns Movie International was released simultaneously in 11 theaters in both Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts, said Frank.

 

Its premiered in theaters of Suchitra, Big Cinemas and PVR in Mangaluru city, Kalpana theater in Udupi, Amarashree theater in Moodbidri, Nakshatra theater in B C Road – Bantwal, Bharat theater in Beltangady, Aruna theater in Puttur, Radhika theater in Karkala, Nataraja theater in Suratkal and I-nacs theater in Manipal – Udupi.    

 

The movie directed by Praveen has 7 songs. Avinash Shetty and Sonal Monteiro are at the lead characters. Kuseldarase Naveen D Padil, Arvind Bolar, Manmohan Rai, Santosh Shetty, Frank Fernandes, Praveen, Bhavya, Sarojini Shetty, Nayana and Shreya Anchan are cast in the movie.

 

Devi Puttur is the scriptwriter, S S David and Praveen contributed dialogues.  Gowri Venkatesh is the cameraman. Shivaraju Mehu contributed literature. Kaurav Venkatesh is the stunt master, Rajesh Ramanath contributed playback music. N G Shivanna and Raja Sulochana Nandihalli are co-producers.

 

The movie revolves around a person who aspired to become a police officer. It changes the course when the events in his life does not support his aspiration, and concentrates on making his son an efficient police officer. 

 

The movie has melodious songs, stunts, comedy and a significant social message, said director Praveen.
