Mangaluru: Auto rickshaw men protest against shunting auto park at Bengre Kasaba

Mangaluru, 13 Jan 2016: The auto rickshaw owners and drivers Association of Bengre Kasaba, here led the protest in front of the office of port and fisheries department here on Tuesday January 12, urging the civic authorities to authorise the existing auto rickshaw park at Bengre Kasaba, here as some vested interests are trying to shift the park.
Addressing the protesters, DYFI district vice president B K Imtiyaz said that the auto rickshaw drivers are offering cheap means of transport by charging minimum of Rs 20 to people in Bengre locality and unnecessary troubling them is condemnable. He urged port authorities to continue the auto park near the ferry as it would benefit the people to and fro journey in city.
DYFI district secretary Santosh Bajal, labour leader Willy Wilson, auto rickshaw owners and drivers Association leader Ansar Bajal supported the struggle.
The Association president Aziz Bengre, secretary Mansoor Ahmed, DYFI Bengre village Committee president A B Noushad, secretary Riyaz Bengre, vice president Hanif, Hassan Monu and others led the protest.
