Mangaluru: DYFI protests to alert investors in Samrudda Jeevan Multi-state Co-op Society

Mangaluru, 05 Jan 2016: At the backdrop of arresting Mahesh Motevar, CEO of Samrudda Jeevan Multi-state Co-operative Society in Odisha, on Sunday January 3, DYFI activists staged protest at the office of Samrudda Jeevan Multi State Co-operative Society, Paradigm Plaza, here on Monday January 4, urging the office-in-charge to refund the money that was collected from the investors.
DYFI district secretary Santosh Bajal said that several fast-bucks companies have cheated the investors of people in the district. RBI had recently written a letter to union government about Samrudda Jeevan Multi State Co-operative Society illegally collecting money from the investors. Despite the complaint was lodged with the city police, the office staff continue to accept the deposits. ‘In order to alert the investors on investing in bogus companies, DYFI staged the protest,’ said Santosh.
There erupted tussle between the city police and the DYFI activist during the protest. The police arrested Santosh Bajal, vice president B K Imtiyaz and others; and released them later.
