The Christian youth led by Baptist Sequeira, native of Kanarady in Moodubelle, near here organized the Yakshagana play on mythological episode of ‘Devi Mahatme’ by the well known troupe of Sri Kshetra Kateel, with the sole objective of reminiscing on childhood memories where people of different faith, caste and creed mingled freely in each others religious celebrations without fear of moral policing.

They also honoured the local Yakshagana artistes during the programme. Hundreds of villagers including Yakshagana enthusiasts witnessed the rare celebration.

After the Vedic celebrations, free food was offered one and all.  Everyone ate and enjoyed the delicacies. The first ever attempt by Christian youth in the history of Moodubelle was lauded with mega hits in social network. The highlight of the programme being gulf-employed youth of more or less same age group who arrive on vacations to their hometown every year organized this historical event to reminisce on their childhood days where they mingled with everyone. ’I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me’ (Exodus 20:2-3). ’You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength’ (Deuteronomy 6:5). Jesus Christ called this summation the great commandment (Matthew 22:37-38).
