Moodbidri: Music maestro S P Balasubramaniam to get Alvas Virasat Award 2015

Moodbidri, 19 Dec 2015: Alvas Education Foundation® will be organizing Alvas Virasat, 4-day national cultural extravaganza on the stage set in memory of Vanajakshi K Sripati Bhat, Vivekananda Nagar, Puttige, Alvas campus, here from December 24 to December 27.
The conferring of Alvas Virasat Award 2015 will be held on first day to acknowledge the extraordinary contributions of distinguished individuals. Accordingly, the renowned playback singer Padmashree and Padmabhushan award recipient S P Balasubramaniam will conferred the Award that comprises Rs 1 lac cash and public honor, stated Dr Mohan Alva, chairman of Alvas Education Foundation® in their media release.

He is well known as S P who has worldwide fans for his distinct god given music talent. His musical talent was first spotted during Talent Spotting Contest held at Chennai, when he was still a kid. He entered the music field through Telugu movie Sri, Sri Maryadaramanna and rose to fame faster because of his melodious singing, energy and emotions that he puts in every song. In his musical career spanning 40 years, he had lent his voice for both devotional and movie songs. Over 35,000 music cassettes wee produced of both songs. He had sung in 15 languages with fluency of his mother tongue. He had directed 45 movies in different languages and also acted in many movies. He is also a movie producer and anchor in many musical concerts. He has been awarded several awards by social welfare and voluntary organizations in India and overseas, both union and state governments. He is also recipient of honorary doctorate from university. The union government bestowed Padmasri and Padmabhushan Awards to him.
