Udupi, 19 Dec 2015: The teachers and parents lay strong foundation for the professional studies of students in their early schooling. However, they fail in instilling human values in the students. The studies including extra-curricular activities are contributing for developing human value, said Dr Gerald Pinto, head of science department, Milagres College, Kallianpur, near here.
Dr Pinto was the chief guest speaking during the annual day celebrations of Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva, near here on Friday December 18.
The School correspondent Fr Stany Tauro in his presidential address said, ‘Human life is superior. The violence is creating havoc on humanity all over the world in the name of religion. The violence cannot win the world, but love can conquer. The students ought to love their nation and their religion, to become disciplined and devout,’ said Fr Tauro.
Fr Dr Prakash Anil Catelino, campus director of Shirva parish education institutions was felicitated for bagging doctorate in chemistry from Mangalore University.
The alumnus Ajay Raj shared his trekking experience of Himalaya and said, ‘The coastal district has schools on every step, but in remote mountainous regions there is only one school for 7 to 8 villages that is also located about 150 kilometers away.’ He urged the students to make the best use of opportunities and contribute for nation building.
The School head teacher Gretta Noronha presented the annual report. Wilson D’Souza, Alban Ferrao, Alwyn Danti and Vishwanat were present. Prince Jacob welcomed the gathering. Bensita compered the programme. The school pupil leader Immanuel proposed vote of thanks.
