Bantwal: Veteran Theater Artiste I K Boluvar urges to include theater in education

Bantwal, 17 Dec 2015: The theater and education are correlated, while the discussions are to be held widely in order to incorporate theater in curriculum, said Puttur veteran theater artiste I K Boluvar.
Boluvar was speaking after inaugurating 3-day workshop on theater in school curriculum that was organized by taluk working journalists Association to commemorate their silver jubilee celebrations at the Jnanajyoti auditorium of office of block education officer, B C Road, here from Wednesday December 16 to Friday December 18. It was organized in association with Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy and office of block education officer and Press Club.
Boluwar further said, ‘The veteran litterateur P M Rao was a teacher hailing from Bantwal taluk, who had contributed significantly in literary sphere. The theater artiste B V Karant also innovated on theater through his theater group Rangayana.’ He appealed the teachers to follow the teaching methods set by P M Rao for children’s literature and theater.
Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy registrar Chandrahas Rai, block education officer Sheshashayana Karinja also spoke on the occasion. Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy member D M Kulal presided the programme.
Dakshina Kannada district working journalists Association general secretary Srinivas Nayak Indaje, Bantwal Press Club president Prashant Punjalkatte were present at the dais.
The silver jubilee celebration Committee president Ibrahim Adkastala welcomed the gathering. The convener Venkatesh Bantwal proposed vote of thanks. The taluk working journalists Association president Mounesh Vishwakarma delivered the introductory address. The camp officer Sandeep Salian compered the programme.
The theater artiste and director Mounesh Vishwakarma is the resource person for 3-day workshop.
