Bantwal: Burglars decamp jewellery worth Rs 6 lac from a house in Amtoor village

Bantwal, 13 Dec 2015: The burglars strike a house of member of gram panchayat and decamped with gold jewellery and a little cash money in Amtoor village, near here that comes under Goltamajal gram panchayat on Friday December 12 night.
The burglars burgled the house of Elias D’Souza, local resident and member of Goltamajal, near here, when he had gone along with his family to attend centenary celebrations of St Antony Higher Primary School, Amtoor, near here on Friday evening.
The burglars entered the house after breaking open the rear door and decamped with 30 sovereign pounds of gold and Rs 7,000 cash. The burglary was come to light when Elias and family returned home Friday midnight. The jewellery worth Rs 6 lac has been estimated to be burgled.
Bantwal town crime department sub-inspector Gangadarappa, fingerprint experts and police have gathered the clues from the crime spot.
Bantwal taluk panchayat member Ida Sures and Dinesh Amtoor, Goltamajal gram panchayat president Jayalaxmi, advocate Ashwani Kumar Rai also visited the crime spot.
Bantwal town sub-inspector Nandakumar is pursuing the investigations at the direction of ASP Rahul Kumar and circle inspector K U Belliappa.
