Mangaluru: Mega Flower Exhibition at Kadri Park from Jan 23 to 26

Mangaluru, 09 Dec 2015: The horticulture department in collaboration with Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat and Siri horticulture union®, Mangaluru, will be organizing mega flower exhibition at Kadri Park, here from January 23 to January 26, said Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat CEO P I Srividya.
Srividya was speaking during the meeting held at zilla panchayat headquarter here on Wednesday December 9; the event will be organized with funds from horticulture department, banks, business enterprises and general public. It aims to rejuvenate horticulture among the people in the district. It would also support the mission of environmental conservation, cleaning and hygiene in cities and rural villages. Besides, it aims at enhancing the scope of horticulture by making optimum use of modern technology, said Srividya.
The food stalls will not be allowed to set up in Kadri Park, as there would be rush of people during fruits and flowers display competitions. Separate arrangements will be made to set up food stalls outside the park, added Srividya.
The horticulture deputy director Dr Yogesh H R said that different competitions will be organized for the citi-zens of district by the horticulture department, as part of district flower and fruits exhibition.
The different department officers, office bearers of Siri horticulture union® were present on the occasion.
