Puttur: S P C signs Mou with Ashoka Innovators

Puttur, 07 Dec 2015: The department of PG studies in social work of St Philomena College here and Ashok Innovators for the Public – South Asia have signed for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaborative activities in the field of social innovations and social entrepreneurship at College auditorium here on December 4.
This MOU is designed to promote social entrepreneurship and social innovations, and share intellectual resources and experiences between the institutions. It intends to organize workshops, seminars, conferences, symposia and similar academic exercises in collaboration with the supporting institutes. It will also foster academic and nonacademic programmes which will help in acquiring knowledge around core skills of empathy, leadership, teamwork and creative problem solving.
Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, chairman, Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research, St Philomena College here represented the College and Shashikumar Velath, Leadership Group Member, vice-president, Framework Change, South Asia, Ashoka Innovators for the Public represented the Ashoka Innovators.
On the occasion of two-day National Conference, Philoference - 2015 on the theme ‘Social Innovation and Change Making: A way forward, MoU Exchange Ceremony was held.
Professor Prasanna Kumar, co-ordinator of PG studies in social work and Shashikumar Velath, Ashoka Innovators for the Public have exchanged the documents in the presence of Yashveer Singh of Ashoka Innovators for the Public and other dignitaries.
The convener of the conference Fr Prince C P presented the highlights of the MoU. Sumana compered the ceremony.
