Udupi, 18 Nov 2015: Indian festivals convey diversity in unity, said veteran intellectual Pundalika Marate Shirva.
Marate was speaking after inaugurating Deepavali Celebration – family get-together that was organized by Rotary community unit of Kunjarugiri at the residence of M G Nagendra on Tuesday November 17.
Kudi Governemnt Higher Primary School headmaster Satish Shetty, Rotary community unit speaker Vincent Rodrigues were the chief guests of the occasion.
Rotary zone former assistant governor M G Nagendra briefed about the social welfare activities of Rotary.
Rotary community unit former president Partasarati was also present. The gathering shared the light in a gesture to share joys and happiness of Deepavali.
Rotary community unit president Sarita Harischandra presided the programme and welcomed the gathering.
Kurkalu gram panchayat vice president Sudhakshani, members Mabel D’Souza, Koragappa, Ranganat and Karunakar Poojary were present.
Ravi Kulal introduced the guests. Chaitra and Apoorva rendered the prayers. Nisha and Ananya compered the programme. The secretary Sabita Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
The children presented variety cultural shows on the occasion.
