Wife fatally assaults drunkard abusive husband in Veerakamba

Bantwal, 18 Nov 2015: In a tragic incident, wife accidentally killed her habitually drunkard husband who could no more take the mental and physical torture, being reported from Veerakamba village that comes at the limits of Vittal police station, near here on Monday November 16 night.
The deceased has been identified as fifty-three-year-old Vasu Shetty yane Revanna Gowda, a resident of Baila, while the police arrested his forty-five-year-old Shobha.
Vasu Shetty was hailing from Mudigere taluk of Chikmagaluru district, Karnataka. Both Vasu and Shobha married 22 years ago, but their marital life took a worse turn since a few years. The police registered dowry harassment case on Vasu during 2012.
Vasu returned home fully drunk on Monday night and began to physically abuse Shobha, who accidentally hit him with a scissor that she was using to cut the leaves of perfect size to roll bidi. It pierced through his heart and passed away whilst being taken to nearby hospital.
The couple has one daughter and two sons who are employed. The incident occurred when their children had gone to their relatives homes.
