Minister Sorake inaugurates state-of-art fish market at Shirva

Udupi, 15 Nov 2015: The state urban development and Udupi district-in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake inaugurated the fish market that was constructed @ Rs 80.75 lac at Shirva, near here on Saturday November 14. It was constructed by Coastal Development Authority with expertise of NFDB, Hyderabad.
The minister Sorake said that Shirva locality is fast developing will be linked major roads and drinking water supply will be done from the Swarna river on priority basis.
It’s the market especially developed for the benefit of fishmongers to sell their stocks in clean and hygienic surrounding.
Shirva gram panchayat president Varija Poojary presided the programme.
Udupi – Chikmagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Coastal Development Authority chairman Nivedit Alva, Karnataka Fisheries Development Board president Hiriyanna Chatrabettu, Udupi TP president Sunita Naik, vice president Ganesh, ZP members Ida Gilbert D’Souza and Geetanjali Suvarna, TP member Krishna Poojary, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Fisheries Marketing Federation chairman Yashpal Suvarna, Shirva gram panchayat vice president Devdas Nayak were present at the dais.
Coastal Development Authority secretary Pradeep D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Jayanti rendered the prayers. K R Patkar compered the programme. Shirva PDO Mamata Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
