Minister Sorake launches Asare TV Channel at Shankarapura

Udupi, 10 Nov 2015: Let Asare TV channel become the hope for common man launched by Vishwasadamane Rehabilitation Centre of Mentally Challenged at Shankarapura, near here with the objective of bringing about social change, said state urban development and Udupi district-in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.

 

The minister Sorake was speaking after inaugurating Asare TV channel that was launched at the leadership of Vishwasadamane Rehabilitation Centre of Mentally Challenged and DGAM Bethel Church, Yesupura, Shankarapura, near here on Sunday October 8.

 

Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes after putting on the camera said, ‘Media plays greater role in social reform.  He hoped Asare TV channel strives in this regard with the patronage of viewers.’

 

 

Udupi district working journalists Association president Jayakar Suvarna launched the logo of Asare TV channel.

 

Innanje gram panchayat president Rekha Anil, vice president Malini Shetty, member Chandrashekar Shetty, Udupi district Pastors’ Association president W Frank, vice president Pastor Joseph Jamakandi, Ganesh Kumar Kalmady, Vincent Salins, Rich Claire, Stephen Monteiro, Prema Margaret,  Vishwasadamane Rehabilitation Centre of Mentally Challenged deputy chairman Babu Mathew, Sr Elizabeth D’Souza were present.

 

Udupi district Rajyotsav Award – 2015 recipients Pastor Sunil John D’Souza, Leeladar Shetty Karandad and Soori Shetty Kaup, Sir M Vishveshwarayya Award recipient Panjimar Santosh Shetty were felicitated during the programme.

 

Pastor Sunil John D’Souza welcomed the gathering.  The journalist Prakash Suvarna Katpady compered the programme.  Asare TV channel director John Newton proposed vote of thanks.
