Doha: Vivian D’Souza elected Prez of vibrant Konkani Speaking Community

Doha-Qatar, 27 Oct 2015: Vivian D’Souza unanimously elected as new president of Konkani Speaking Community (KSC) of Our Lady of Rosary Church, here for the term 2015 to 2018.

 

Bertha Rodrigues (secretary), Joachim Dias (treasurer), Sunil D’Silva, Teresa Goveas, Gracy Danti, Martin Mascarenhas, Antony Estrocio, Kristen D’Souza and Christine D’Cunha (Committee members).  

 

Our Lady of Rosary parish priest and KSC spiritual director Fr Anand Castelino OFM Cap announced the list of office bearers during Konkani Mass here recently. 

 

Vivian D’Souza renders his service as an active member in parish council by serving as its secretary. He was in-charge of church building and seraphic hall and also served as president of POSA, a charitable unit of the church for continuously 3 years. Working closely with various unemployed youths at industrial area and fishermen camps, he helps the needy people providing those provisions, giving medical aid etc. Under his leadership many medical and blood donation camps has been conducted in the church premises. Vivian D’Souza is familiar among community with his selfless service in Doha; he served the society associating with Mangalore Cricket Club and Tulu Koota Qatar too.

 

 

Fr Anand thanked the outgoing president Mathew Estrocio and his team for their selfless service towards the church and poor people in the society.

 

Konkani speaking Community is an active group belongs to the people from Konkan Zone of India, Maharashtra, Goa, Karwar and Mangaluru. KSC members render many selfless services towards poor people in the society. KSC offer prayer, novenas and kept alive traditional Konkan festivals in Doha celebrating St Xavier Feast, St Anthony Feast and Monti Feast.
