Udupi: NSS programmes promote societal virtues – Prof Bhaskar Shetty

Udupi, 18 Oct 2015: NSS programmes provide venue for the volunteers to develop tolerance, co-existence through voluntary labor. The volunteers can create general awareness on peace and communal harmony at a time when untoward incidences are occurring in the society over silly reasons, said Professor Y Bhaskar Shetty, administrator of Vidyavardaka Education Trust.
Professor Bhaskar was delivering valedictory address during NSS annual special camp of Hindu PU College, Shirva, near here held at Durgaparameshwari Higher Primary School, Bantakal, near here on Saturday October 17.
Durgaparameshwar temple managing trustee Jayaram Prabhu, Shirva gram panchayat member K R Patkar, lauded the social activities of NSS volunteers.
The teachers Shakila and Sangeeta were present at the dais.
The prizes were distributed to the winners of different competitions and also felicitated the conveners of programme.
Hindu PU College principal Vishnu Bhat K welcomed the gathering. The NSS officer Sundar Mera presented the report. NSS volunteer Samson proposed vote of thanks. Ashish Patkar compered the programme.
