BJP to stage protest rally in city on Oct 20; demands arrests in Prashanth’s murder
Bengaluru/Mangaluru, 16 Oct 2015: The state unit of the BJP has decided to stage a massive protest rally on October 20 in Mangaluru demanding that the accused be arrested in the murder of Bajarang Dal activist Prashanth Poojary.
Pralhad Joshi, the state BJP president informed the media regarding the protest rally after it was decided in the BJP core committee meet held in the state capital.
As a flower-vendor, Prashanth Poojary was also a Bajarang Dal activist and was murdered in broad daylight in Moodbidri on October 9; however no arrests have been made in this regard so far.
Joshi further said that the Sangh Parivar had constantly targeted the districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada; those who opposed the illegal slaughter of cattle were murdered.
Joshi alleged that the police as well as the government were biased in Prashanth Poojary’s murder case.
“Prashanth revealed the names of his attackers before he breathed his last yet no arrests have been made. Though Abhayachandra Jain paid a visit to the shops that were damaged due to stone pelting he did not visit the victim’s family,” Joshi said.
