Mangaluru: Konkani Natak Sabha Distributes Prizes to winners of Inter-parish Competitions

Mangaluru, 29 Sep 2015: The prize distribution ceremony of the annual competitions conducted during the year by Konkani Natak Sabha® (KNS) was held at Don Bosco Hall here on Saturday September 26.

 

The competitions held during the year were elocution, poetry, singing, fancy dress, dance and Haskule (comedy) skit competition.

 

 

In the singing competition, below 15 years category out of city parishes - Gurpur, Nityadar and Allipade parishes bagged first, second and third place respectively. In the city parishes - Bondel, Bejai, and Bajjodi parishes bagged first, second and third place respectively. 

 

In the above 15 years category out of city parishes - Gurupur, Nityadar and Fajir parishes bagged first, second and third place respectively. In the city parishes - Cordel parish bagged first place while Bajjodi and Bejai parishes stood second and Cascia parish third place.

 

In the out of city parishes - Gurpur parish bagged overall championship and in the city parishes Cordel parish bagged overall championship.

 

In the fancy dress competition - in the below 15 years category, Bajal and Bajjodi parishes bagged first rolling shield, while Bondel and Angelore parishes second and third place respectively. In the above 15 years category, Bajal, Bajjodi and Bondel parishes bagged first, second and third places respectively.

 

In the dance competition Bondel, Milagres and Bejai parishes bagged first, second and third place respectively in the below 15 years category. Cordel and Ashoknagar parishes bagged first and second place respectively while Bondel, Bejai and Urva parishes third place in above 15 years category.

 

In the Haskule skit competition Paldane, Kateel and Balkunje parishes bagged first, second and third place respectively. Bejai, Bondel, Surathkal and Valencia parishes bagged consolation prizes.

 

Cordel parish bagged overall championship in all the competitions held during the year.

 

The prizes of the competitions were distributed by the KNS president Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza along with Santosh Sequeira, proprietor of Santhosh Arrangers and Elias Fernandes, managing director of Four winds Mass Communications.

 

KNS vice president Prem Lobo, general secretary Sunil Menezes and joint secretary Judi D’Souza among others were present.

 

Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Sunil Menezes read the list of prize winners and congratulated them on behalf of Konkani Natak Sabha and proposed vote of thanks. Prem Lobo compered the programme.
