Bantwal, 29 Sep 2015: The rural youth got to take keen interest in farming by not too much leaning towards city life, if the villages are to be prospered. The agricultural revolution that is being led by Rajesh Nayak Ulipadyguttu in order to rescue paddy cultivation in DK district is role model for the entire nation, said Prabhakar Kalladka, correspondent of Rama Vidya Kendra, Kalladka, near here.

Prabhakar was speaking after setting motion for rural sports by unfurling the flowers of areca plant at the vast paddy field of Kushala M Shetty, Kudumundoor in Sajipamuda village, near here on Sunday September 27. ‘The farming can contribute significantly for the prosperity of villages. If the farming is neglected the culture associated with it would go oblivion,’ said Prabhakar. The farmers of bygone era enjoyed good health because they toiled in their fields, while a revolution in organic farming in the entire DK district got to be organized for the sustenance of traditional farming, added Prabhakar.

The progressive farmer Rajesh Nayak Ulipadiguttu said, ‘Despite India comprises 80 percent of farmlands, the numbers of farmers engaged in farming are dwindling. DK district that was producing highest quantity of paddy in the past is procuring rice from other districts. The agricultural revolution is an apolitical attempt to revive paddy cultivation in DK district,’ said Rajesh.
