Mangaluru: Muhurtam of Kannada movie, Amara Chethana: Santa Joseph Vaz

Mangaluru, 28 Sep 2015: The muhurtam of Kannada movie, Amara Chetana: Santa Joseph Vaz, a movie on the life of Saint Joseph Vaz, Goan clergy who was beatified in Sri Lanka by Pope Francis in 2014 was held at St Joseph Vaz Shrine, Mudipu, here on Sunday September 27 at 10.30am. St Joseph Vaz had also served a few years as parish priest of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Panir, here in Mangaluru diocese before setting feet to Sri Lanka.
The Shrine director Fr Benjamin Pinto blessed the script of the movie on the occasion.
Mudipu Parish council vice president Roshan D’Souza, secretary Leo D’Souza, the movie sponsors Gilbert and Hazel Crasto family, Bondel parish council vice president Henbert Pinto and movie director Vinod Gangolli were present on the occasion.
In his keynote address, Vinod Gangolli briefed about the storyline of the film and the life of St Joseph Vaz.
Fr Benjamin Pinto congratulated the whole team for this noble venture and whished a grand success to this movie.
Amara Chetana: Santa Joseph Vaz will portray the life of great Indian born saint and his miraculous missionary life in Sri Lanka. The film will be released during January 2016.
Leo D’Souza compered the programme and proposed vote of thanks. Later, the shooting for the movie began at the Shrine.
