Women asked to leave party venue; Police alleged of acting on BD’s directions
Mangaluru, 28 Sep 2015: The city police have come in eye of storm for allegedly asking women to leave a discotheque where they were reveling on Saturday night. With the women having been made to leave, the party at the discotheque continued with only men dancing to the dance numbers, revealed sources.
However, the city police refuting the allegation have said that the party was stalled because the organisers had not procured certain permission required for the same.
Sources in the department said that the organisers had planned a fashion show and had also served liquor. Since the organisers had not taken the CL4 and CL7 licences required under the Excise Act for providing liquor, the permission was cancelled on Friday. The police rushed to the hotel on Saturday on the information that the organisers were continuing with the event despite refusal of permission.
Though the organisers wanted to hold the DJ-get-together till 1 am, the police had granted permission only till 10 pm.
As per reports in certain media, the police reached the party venue at 6.45 pm and made the women, including some Europeans leave the venue. The music was stopped for about 45 minutes, but once the women had left the music resumed and the ’all men’ party went on till 10.20 pm.
However, the police have denied the allegations that only women were made to leave the party venue, even as eyewitnesses say that there were over 20 women at the venue including European women who were asked to leave.
Though the police Commissioner had said that an inquiry will be held to find out why the permission was granted by the jurisdictional police at the first place, he has denied the presence of the Bajrang Dal activist at the party venue along with the police, the Bajrang Dal leaders have thanked the police for acting on the intimation and foiling the party, which are organised by drug and sex mafia.
