Puttur: SPC organizes seminar on sustainable devt & corporate social responsibility

Puttur, 24 Sep 2015: St Philomena College, the department of commerce, here, in association with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Mangaluru chapter organized UGC sponsored National Seminar on ‘Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility - Issues and Challenges’ at College auditorium here on Wednesday September 23.
Dr G Gopa Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Kerala, Kasargod inaugurated the seminar and delivered the keynote address. He said, ‘India has achieved political democracy and not achieved economic and social democracy. Inclusive development is the new term which is indispensable for sustainable development.’
CA Shivakumar K, president of ICAI, Mangalore chapter was the chief guest. Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, College campus director was the guest of honor.
CA Jagannath Kamath, former president, ICAI, Mangaluru chapter was also present. Fr Alfred J Pinto, the Correspondent presided the function.
In technical sessions, Professor D Anand, Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences, University of Mysore and former Professor Ramachandra Bhatta of Fisheries Economics, College of Fisheries, Mangaluru were the resource persons.
Terrence and group sang the prayer song. Professor Leo Noronha, principal welcomed the gathering. Professor Maxim Carl, head of department of commerce and the convener of Seminar proposed the vote of thanks. Professor Melita Anusha Monteiro, department of commerce compered the programme.
