Man who cheated 12 women finally falls in police net
Bengaluru, 20 Sep 2015: A man who cheated 12 women finally landed in police net when his 12th victim showed courage to file a complaint.
The arrested is D M Ramakrishna alias Anil Prasad (46) from T Narasipura in Mysuru.
The modus operandi of the accused is that he used to trap women by claiming to be in love and on the pretext of introducing them to his parents he used to rob them off their valuables.
However, the time tested plan went awry on the 12th case where the woman got him caught by the cops after filing a case, but of course after losing her 150 gms of gold jewellery.
It is said that the man in question had advertised in matrimony column claiming that he was a widower who was looking for second alliance.
The complainant had seen the advertisement in a Kannada news daily and contacted Ramakrishna.
The two met twice at BDA complex in Banashankari and soon he had told her that he liked her and he wanted consent from his parents.
Citing a meeting between her and his parents as an occasion for her to be in best of clothes and loads of ornaments, Ramakrishna took the woman to Hotel Maurya at Majestic, had breakfast and then took her to a cafe at Mantri Mall, where he bought her a soft drink. On consuming the soft drink, the lady fell unconscious.
In her complaint, the lady has stated that when she was back in her senses, she was at BDA complex and not in Mantri Mall and she realised that all her jewellry were robbed and Ramakrishna was not around.
When all her efforts to trace Ramakrishna failed, she realised that she was cheated by the man for ornaments.
Soon the Banashankari police traced him down and nabbed him and during the interrogation, Ramakrishna is said to have confessed to conning 11 other women and that complainant was his 12th target.
