Mangaluru, 15 Sep 2015: ‘Music makes man humane; perseverance and practice teaches students to be dedicated and committed even in academics,’ said Fr Denis D’Sa, PRO of Udupi diocese.
Fr Denis was the chief guest during the Music Day celebration of St Aloysius PU College, held at the College Pretorium, here on Monday September 14.
The city north police sub-inspector Shantaram was the guest of honor, stressed that music will lead to prosperity and joy.
The College principal Fr Melvyn Mendonca SJ appreciated the staff and students for the academic achievements and the laurels they win in co-curricular activities. He urged the students to put all efforts with heart, mind and hands and thus, be men and women for others.
Fr Dr Praveen Martis SJ, in his presidential address said, ‘The students need to be like an onion; filled with layers of talents, potentials and wished that the Musical Day puts out all barriers to bind us in unity and bring peace, joy, happiness and fulfillment in our lives.’
Fr Denis released bi-annual newsletter of St Aloysius PU College on the same occasion. St Aloysius PU College vice principal Rekha Alva was also present.
Clotilda Lobo, with her melodious singing and words welcomed the gathering. Deepti Rani proposed the vote of thanks. After the stage programme, the students mesmerized the audience for the whole day with their dance, music, mime and bands.
