Mumbai: Vasai-Mangaluru Ganapati Special Train begins on efforts of Railway Yatri Sangh

Mumbai, 12 Sep 2015: Vasai Road – Mangaluru Ganapati special train service for the first time chugged off from Vasai Road junction railway station bearing train number 00115 here on Friday September 11 at 1.45pm, for the benefit of passengers living in western suburbs. It was a long pending demand followed up by Railway Yatri Sangh Borivali – Mumbai and Railway Yatri Sangh ® Udupi which was materialized with the concerted efforts of Borivali MP Gopal C Shetty.
Vasai Road junction railway station master Rajesh Mathre, Railway Yatri Sangh vice president Premanat Kotian, executive secretary Oliver D’Souza, joint secretary Ranjit Suvarna, K B Poojary, Devendra Bunnan, Yashodar V Kotian, Ashok Shetty Vasai, Narayan Kukyan, Subash Poojary, Mohan K Putran, K P Poojary and others were present.
Railway Yatri Sangh Borivali – Mumbai founder honorary president Virar Shankar B Shetty, president Simantoor flagged off the special train.
Earlier, the office bearers of Railway Yatri Sangh led by advisor Yermal Harish Shetty congratulated MP Gopal Shetty at the latter’s office and thanked him for his effort in beginning the train service.
The special train will commence its journey on September 11, September 16 and September 26 with train number 00115 from Vasai Road junction railway station, en route Panvel, Ratnagiri, Madgaon, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal and reach Udupi the following day at 8.43am, with halt at Suratkal and reach Mangaluru at 11.00am.
The train number 00116 will begin its return journey from Mangaluru on September 12, September 17and September 27 at 6.00pm and will reach Panvel at 11.40am, Vasai Road junction at 1.00pm, informed Railway Yatri Sangh president R L Dias.
