M’luru: District-level Teachers Day celebrations held at Puttur

Mangaluru, 05 Sep 2015: Teachers Day celebrations that are held in each taluk of DK district is praiseworthy. Since ancient times, teaching is a noble profession. The teacher has significant responsibility in nurturing educated society. Only a privileged few were entitled to get education in the past. It was only limited to rich. Its due to the societal progress and concerted efforts of government, the education is meant for all, said state forests and DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.
 
The minister Rai was speaking during Teachers Day celebrations that were organized by DK zilla panchayat and public instruction department at Puttur, on Saturday September 5. 
 
Meanwhile, the minister Rai called on the people to strive to make a healthy and prosperous society.

 

 
The state health and family welfare minister U T Khader was the chief guest, said that teaching should not be limited to society; instead it has to cover the world. The teachers have significant responsibility in shaping the healthy society, said minister Khader.
 
Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner urged the students to strive hard to get first place for DK district in education sphere.
 
DC Ibrahim administered oath to students to become responsible citizen of India.
 
The retired teachers, the national and state award recipient teachers were felicitated on the same occasion.
 
Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty presided the programme.
 
MLC Ganesh Karnic, ZP president Asha Timmappa Gowda, ZP CEO Srividhya, deputy director public instructions Walter D’Mello, Cyprian Monteiro, ZP and TP members were present.
