Puttur: Programme on Rashtriya Life Saving Society at St Philomena College

Puttur, 23 Aug 2015: St Philomena College here organized a progamme on Rashtriya Life Saving Society at silver jubilee memorial hall of the College recently.
The resource person of the programme, Partha Varanasi, International Swimming Coach addressing the gathering said, ‘Rashtriya Life Saving Society encourages the youngsters to learn swimming and also teaches first aid and life saving skill.’ He further said, ‘First Aid is very crucial in saving a life of a person. In public interest, people should learn the method of First Aid. Such kind of training camp should be conducted at college levels.’
Professor Vishnu Bhat, vice principal of the College in his presidential address said, ‘First Aid is a treatment that should be given to a patient at critical stage, for example if a person is drowning he is pulled out and water is removed from the stomach and mouth to mouth breathing are all part of first aid.
Niroop G R, swimming coach, Professor Ganesh Bhat, Student Welfare Officer were also present.
Bharathi Rai, Student Welfare Officer, welcomed the gathering. Hadley Wilson Gonsalves, students’ council president proposed vote of thanks. Shiksha Shetty, joint secretary of the Council compered the programme.
