Finally, NURM buses get permit in Mangaluru
Mangaluru, 22 Aug 2015: Dakshina Kannada district Regional Transport Authority has finally granted permission for NURM buses in Mangaluru.
The Authority, upon considering the benefit of public and the purpose of NURM buses, has permitted 35 buses in Mangaluru.
Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim said that with an exemption on current DM notification, 18 NURM buses will be operating from State Bank bus stand and other 17 from Lalbagh KSRTC bus stand. The exemption will be in action from August 20 until next notice from the authority.
KSRTC said that the route of these buses is yet to decide.
There was uncertainty about NURM buses in Mangaluru from last few days as it was sanctioned by Central government but had not been permitted by Dakshina Kannada district RTA.
The dispute from private buses which urged NURM buses to start from KSRTC bus stand and the DM notification for NURM buses to enter State bank bus stand was preventing the authority to take a decision on this.
